Silly Sock Saturdays is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation which plans on helping kids in hospitals by bringing joy and happiness to them in the form of silly socks with comfort items, such as toys, coloring books, and crayons, and delivered with a smile.
We do numerous activities within the community, one of which we are named after, Silly Sock Saturday. Silly Sock Saturdays are on the second Saturdays of every month, unless of a holiday around that time. Silly Sock Saturdays is an event in which we bring silly designed socks with different types of comfort items, like coloring books or toys, approved by our sponsoring hospitals, to help the kids in a time of need. This helps the kids by taking their mind onto other things, not the pain and what the operation might be happening future.
The founder of Silly Sock Saturdays is Zachary Kirkland a college student at the University of Central Florida. He founded Silly Sock Saturdays when he was 14 in the 8th grade at Edward W. Bok Academy South. He is a graduate from the IB program at Lake Wales High School earning an International Baccalaureate diploma and was Captain of the bowling team and CyberPatriot team.
